Problem

I'm using a Canon camera and when I look at my Live View screen I have a bunch of blue boxes feeling my screen.  I cannot seem my live view image very clearly, what can I do?

Solution

If you are using a Canon camera and your Live View looks similar to the screen shown below

you likely have your Canon camera auto-focus mode set up as Zone-AF, or something similar.  The blue boxes highlight the region of the image that is used by the camera to determine auto-focus.  To turn down the number of blue boxes, go to your Canon camera and follow these steps:

  1. Click on the Menu button.
  2. Navigate to the menu that contains the AF Method.
  3. Change the method from Zone-AF to Point-AF or other focusing methods that may be available for your Canon camera.
