The short answer is: once purchased, you own the version of the software you purchased forever and you can use it indefinitely.

maintenance, development, and enhancement of

Visere Captura.  Our licensing scheme works as follows:
From the time you purchase the software, Pictomic provides

the software. Here's how it works:

  • Upon purchasing the software, you receive one year of upgrades and live technical support (via all communication methods).
  • At the end of

    1. Purchase another year of software upgrades and support

The licensing scheme in Visere Captura is bound
  • to a unique user and computer.
  You will need to to have the license moved to another computer.  We will provide a license move free of charge for all licenses, expired and active
  • for a free transfer, regardless of whether your license is active or expired.
  • After the initial purchase of the software, you can renew the license for one year of support and upgrades at the price of the maintenance license.
  • You can lock in additional years of support by purchasing additional maintenance licenses.

We strongly recommend maintaining an active license to ensure continuous access to the latest versions, bug fixes, and technical support.

Suppose you purchase Visere Captura on January 1, 2025.

  • You will have access to version upgrades and technical support until January 1, 2026.
  • If you decide not to
not purchase maintenance for one year and the second year you decide to purchase the maintenance, you have two options:
  1. You can pay the maintenance retroactively, for the missing time that the maintenance was not active + 1 year (rounded to full year numbers).
  2. Or, you can purchase a new license, at full price, if this option is less costly.
We strongly recommend that all our customers maintain an active license at all times.  This will guarantee access to all the latest versions and bug fixes
  • renew maintenance in 2027, you can continue using any version released before January 1, 2026.
  • If you decide to upgrade in July 2028, you will have to purchase the maintenance license and the upgrade will cover maintenance and support from July 2028 to July 2029.
  • In conclusion, after the initial purchase of the software all future one year upgrades and support will cost the price of the maintenance license.
Tip
titleLicense Bound to User and Computer

Please be aware that the Visere Captura license is strictly tied to a single user and a single computer. The license file is non-transferable and cannot be moved between different computers or users. If you need to operate Visere Captura on the same computer under multiple user profiles, you will require additional non-concurrent licenses.
