The short answer is: once purchased, you own the version of the software you purchased forever and you can use it indefinitely.

From the time you purchase the software, Pictomic provides

    2. Or, you can purchase a new license, at full price, if this option is less costly.
  • We strongly recommend that customers maintain an active license
    • for a free transfer, regardless of whether your license is active or expired.
    • After the initial purchase of the software, you can renew the license for one year of support and upgrades at the price of the maintenance license.
    • You can lock in additional years of support by purchasing additional maintenance licenses.

    Assume Suppose you purchase Visere Captura on January 1st1, 2025.

    • You will have access to version upgrades and technical support until January

    your Visere Captura.  The upgrade has to go in full year steps from the time of the original purchase and it is rounded up from the time you decide to upgrade.
    1. Your upgrade will provide a license that will expire on January 1st, 2029.
    2. Your initial purchase provided a license until January 1st, 2027.  That means that your upgrade cost will have to cover two years, from January 1st, 2027 to January 1st, 2029.
    If, instead of upgrading a year later, you decide to upgrade five years later, then the cost of purchasing a new version will be lower than paying retroactively and you should purchase a new version

    Please be aware that the Visere Captura license is strictly tied to a single user and a single computer. The license file is non-transferable and cannot be moved between different computers or users. If you need to operate Visere Captura on the same computer under multiple user profiles, you will require additional non-concurrent licenses.
